For me, it is very important to make sure your headline is attention-grabbing and reflective of your brand, helping to create that great first impression.
In my opinion, and years of experience, a great headline will also help you to stand out from your competitors and help you attract potential new connections, and even better, new clients.
So if you’re still wondering why it’s important to write the perfect LinkedIn headline, here are of my few good reasons:

On LinkedIn, your headline follows you everywhere you go, with the first third of your content appearing whenever you post, comment on someone else’s post, or send a direct message. Can you see why your headline is so important?

Tip #1 – Who do you work with?
When writing your headline, be sure to include keywords that are relevant to your industry or target market. This will help you show up in more searches and attract the right people to your profile. For example, I would make sure I have “social media” or “social media specialist” in my title.
If you can pinpoint your target audience by their profession, position, or company, you will increase the likelihood that the appropriate people will be drawn to your profile. People are more likely to pause and look deeper into your profile when their profession is highlighted. Although it isn’t entirely their name, it is a very close second.
It will also save a lot of time for both your viewers and, more importantly, for you. Your time is valuable, and the last thing you want to do is waste it responding to comments and direct messages from a bunch of strangers. So, that`s my first tip on how to write the perfect LinkedIn headline.

Tip #2 – Keep it short
Your headline should be concise and to the point- although you have 220 characters to play with, I recommend you try to keep it under 120 characters. This can be a challenge, but it’s important to remember that people are scanning through headlines quickly. You want yours to stand out and make an impact in a short amount of time.
Tip #3 – Be interesting
As well as including keywords, make sure your headline is interesting, informative, and aimed at your target audience.
One way I like to look at this is to think about what makes you unique and highlight that in your headline.
Remember, you want people to read your profile, so make sure your headline is something that will make them want to learn more about you, what will stir up their interest? What will make them go past your headline to look at your profile?
Think about their pain points, describe how you can help them.
Since there are numerous techniques to solving a problem and remember, different people have different processes, so it’s critical to emphasise exactly how you work.
Do you offer one-on-one services or a membership?
Do you offer training or “done for you” services?
If you do then focus on that. Focus on the solution to their problems.
The more details you provide, the more you can target your audience and help them in the purchasing process. It’s easier to develop the crucial trust that people need to have in you before they decide to make a purchase from you if you can keep things straightforward and explain everything to them.
Tip #4 – Blow your own trumpet!

Ok, before I wrap up (and shut up!) I just want to stress how important it is that you don’t forget to proofread your headline before you publish it.
I don`t know about you, but a few typos, poor grammar (I know I`m not Norfolk`s answer to Shakespeare) can quickly turn people off from reading your profile, so take the time to double-check for any errors.
